Wow, I’m so tired. I just got home after the last fashion show; the sixth one in three days! It’s been very stressful, I was a dresser and the model I was looking after had 9 outfit changes. You would never know just how manically busy it is behind the scenes. My collection was the finale and after getting the girls into their outfits I just had enough time to run around to see them come onto the catwalk. I felt so proud, I almost cried at how beautiful all of the girls looked in my dresses. The child models were brilliant, when Lexie lifted her arms at the end of the catwalk she looked like a little angel and the whole audience just went “aaawwwwwww”. Dave came to three of the shows and so I have got plenty of photos, here’s just a couple of my favourites:
This last picture is me and Kayley, (the model I was dressing) after the last show. She’s wearing my friend Emily’s dress. I got lots of compliments for my outfit today, I’d wanted the purple blazer for months and it finally came back into stock last week. The whole outfit is from River Island.
After the last show, I put the dresses into garment bags and took them home. It feels strange that I’ll never go back there again now. Good though!
On the way home on Thursday evening we stopped so that Dave could take my photo in this poppy field. The poppies have been out for a few weeks but Dave has been teaching in Stoke and so I haven’t had a photographer. Luckily the poppies are still in full bloom:

Daisy Headband: Primark
Just realised I’ve not long featured this outfit…ooops!!
I had a good day at uni yesterday, I spent all morning doing more research and creating a moodboard and then had a really good chat with Tracey in the afternoon to discuss my proposal. After we visited the Natural History Museum on New Years Day, I felt really inspired by all the colours and shapes of insects, plants and the sea; I decided this would be a really good theme for my FMP. Long-term my plan is to set up my own childrenswear business and for this reason, I had planned that my entire collection for my FMP would be childrenswear. I discussed this with Tracey in the afternoon and she said her only issue was that she didn’t think that I would fully be able to push myself technically and show off my pattern cutting skills if I only did childrenswear. This had been a concern of mine as well, so we have decided that it will primarily be a childrens collection but with some womenswear as well, giving me a chance to challenge myself more technically. It also means that I will be able to create some darker, edgier designs that I may not have been able to do if I were not doing any womenswear. Plus I’ll be able to make one of them to fit me, yayyyyy!!!!!!! I bought an amazing sketchbook for my research too, I’ve been at work today but planning on spending the rest of my weekend on it; the sooner my research is done the sooner I can get designing.
This was the outfit I wore to uni, the dress and the shoes are really old. I rediscovered the dress when I reorganised my wardrobe last week!
Dress and Belt: River Island
I went out for tea last night, a fish supper at Loch Fyne yummy yummy yum. A quick change into my Kate Moss for Topshop playsuit and some vintage beads and off I went:

Gone for a bit of a hippy look today. I’m getting ready to go to Exploring Specialist Pathway this morning, my pathway is Design, Cut and Manufacture; I’m really looking forward to getting my brief and getting started. I’m also really looking forward to meeting up with my bestest pal Lydia for a coffee later, haven’t seen her for weeks and am missing her very much; one thing you may start to realise about me from this blog is that I like coffee rather a lot! I’m kind of struggling with my wardrobe at the moment, it’s that tricky transitional time where it’s not time to wear proper winter clothes but it’s too grotty for summer ones. So today I’ve gone for:
Dress: Kate Moss for Topshop.
Knitted Waistcoat: Topshop, I love this little beauty.
Boots: River Island
I’m currently in love with this cape from French Connection too (not that I can have it):
