Legally Blonde….

Eeeeee so excited to be going to see Legally Blonde the musical with my friend Lucy tonight! We saw it together last summer in London and it was so good that we bought the soundtrack at the show. So when I saw the show was touring the country and coming to Stoke, I just had to get us tickets.

I’ve been doing fun things today, I’ve been and had my hair cut and coloured. I just realised today that I haven’t had anything done to it since May (other than getting my fringe trimmed from time to time) so it’s no surprise that I’ve got bored of it. I didn’t take a photo but the past few times I’ve been into the Oxford Street Topshop, the mannequins have had blonde hair and baby pink fringes. The idea was to put some layers of baby pink through the front but you can barely see it, so I’ve got to go back on Saturday morning for her to add some more sections in.

Oh and I’ve also been buying new folders and other stationary for uni. I love buying new stationary, it’s like getting a new pencil case before you go back to school when you’re a kid 🙂

First Lecture….

On Monday I had my first lecture for my module “Multi Disciplinary Design” and I enjoyed it soooooo much! It was really interesting discussing product life cycles and different types of markets. I’m so happy right now because for the past few weeks I’d been starting to worry whether I should have stuck with a design based degree rather than going into the business side. But if the other modules on the course are as good as this one then I think that this will be perfect for me. I know it’s incredibly early to say but I feel like this degree will give me much better options.

I haven’t worn this dress since I first bought it a few months ago. To be honest I’d kind of forgotten about it. Styled it in a completely different way with my H&M booties and this amazing leather jacket. Can you believe it was actually Dave’s when he was little? He used to wear it when he rode on the back of his Dad’s motorbike, don’t think he could even fit his arm in the sleeve now but I love it and the best part is it didn’t cost me a penny!

Enrolment Day….

So last week I had to go into uni to enrol onto my final year, I am now officially studying “Entrepreneurship for the Creative and Cultural Industries” or “ECCI” for short! It looks like it’s going to be so different to my Fashion Foundation Degree, I just really hope that it’s what I want it to be. I think I will have to keep a Reflective Learning Journal again so you’ll be kept well up to date with what I’m learning and how it’s going.

Looking forward to getting back into it but already missing the summer. I’ve been so busy the past few months and have gained some fantastic experience but really excited to get back into academia, who’d have thought it?

I’m so in love with this maxi skirt from Topshop, I really wanted the maroon coloured one too but there’s only big sizes left on the website. The boots are becoming a bit of a staple at the moment too, they just go with everything and were such a bargain (they were only £14.99). I’m going into town tomorrow so think I may have to see if they still have the tan ones, although the number of pairs of boots in my wardrobe is getting a bit ridic now. What are your autumn staples?

Plum Picking……

So I’ve never been particularly good at relaxing but I have been ever so busy for a Sunday!

We went to the gym; first time I’ve been since joining and it made me realise just HOW unfit I am! After an hour at the gym I rewarded myself with a quick mooch around the shops. I was good though, I’m going to London on Saturday for a few days and so only bought a Primark handbag. Then once we were home I made Dave a casserole for tea and whilst that was in the oven we went plum picking!

Might seem like an unusual thing to be doing but I’ve been making jam and stuff to give to people as Christmas presents. It’s fairly cheap to do and it’s much more personal than buying stuff.

Check out my inappropriate post-gym, plum-picking outfit:

One of those days….

Had one of those days today, I’ve been working really hard all summer on a few different things and today I had a “am I doing the right thing” moment. Then my train was 20 minutes late making me miss my bus and so I had to hang around for an hour till the next one! Worst of all as the train was slowing to a stop my suitcase toppled over and I went with it; a proper ground swallow me up moment if ever there was one. One of those things where you would burst out laughing if you saw it happen to anyone but is horrible when it actually happens to you.

Anyways, my boy picked me up from the bus and took me for a drink. After a glass of wine and a chat I’m feeling much happier, although I have a bruise on my shin 😦

This is what I wore on injury day:

I’m Baaaaaackkkkkk!

Hi everyone! August has been a really crazy month for me, I had a few weeks working 3 different jobs and I’ve ended up neglecting my blog. But here I am, back for good. I’ve left my retail job at River Island and gone back to working in the office that I used to work in before going to uni. I haven’t given up on uni, I’m just doing the office job 2 days a week so I’ll still be able to fit it around my uni timetable. But it’s better money and better hours.

Anyway on with a quick outfit post, I went to see my friend Emily in Stafford the other day. It was the first time I’d seen her properly in a long time as she’s been of doing a work placement in London. My hair is in desperate need of some attention and so I seem to be tying it in a top-knot quite a lot this week!

I’ve had gel nails put on recently and finding that nail varnish lasts much longer on them, so I’ve been having some fun doing nail art. Check out my bondage style nails I did this week with Barry M in Bright Yellow and my Models Own Nail Art Pen:

My amazing ring in the picture is a recent purchase from ASOS, I just couldn’t resist it. Fierce or what?!

Like so many bloggers out there, I made the most of the Models Own fifty percent sale recently. I couldn’t resist sharing my little haul with you, I was very excited when this beautiful box arrived in the post:

It took me forever to choose which colours I wanted but in the end  I went for: Bronze Rage, Gold Rush, Bubblegum, Coral Reef, Orange Sherbet and Grace Green. I also bought a Neon Blue eye paint, Blackberry Lipstick and lip brush. So far I’m really pleased with the quality of the nailvarnishes, the colours go on really nicely and dry quickly too.
