At uni yesterday, we had Notty Hornblower from Hope House Costume Museum come to give a talk on historical costume and historical bridal wear. Millie and I had been asked to model some of the garments she had brought to show us, this unfortunately meant that we missed most of the talk as we were toing and froing changing into different outfits but we had great fun dressing up!! I felt like I’d just stepped off a period drama film set….
All the outfits I had to wear were Edwardian. Millie’s first outfit was Victorian, then she had a mourning outfit from 1918 but I don’t have a picture of that and then the wedding dress was from the 1940s. Notty’s collection and knowledge is exceptional, we’re going to arrange to visit her museum and I would definitely recommend anybody to go and visit.
